In 2002, a group of community members bought a radio frequency from Johns Hopkins University and renamed it WYPR (Your Public Radio). Today, WYPR (88.1 FM) is one of Baltimore’s best radio stations, hosting relevant conversations, debates and interviews for listeners. The building was originally the business office of Allegheny Pepsi Cola Bottling Company (1961).
There will be guided tours of the newsroom and interactive stations available 1 pm – 5pm. There will be news reporters and even some on-air personalities on site throughout the day.
