Greenmount West Community Center

1634 Guilford Ave Baltimore, MD 21202 www.greenmountwest.org

The Greenmount West Community Center is newly opened in the basement of the Baltimore Montessori School. Originally, Public School 32, the building was designed by the Baltimore Inspector of Buildings, J. Theodore Oster, who also designed the matching School 33 in Federal Hill. After the school’s closing in 2001, the building served as a homeless shelter and then as a location for The Wire on HBO. Recently the building has circled back to its original purpose. It was transformed into the Baltimore Montessori School and the Greenmount West Community Association renovated the basement as an inclusive space for all. Come visit the community center and see the Youth African Drumming Classes. The entrance is on the 200 block of East Lanvale Street.
